her hand of god: bound bound bound
charcoal drawings
wood pedestal
Navy poly blend fabric, gold thread, leather ribbon, gauze
rigid wrap plaster, acrylic paint, gold powder, thread
This is the first sculpture project I've ever done. I continued on the themes I've been using this trimester of religion and the woman's form. The first is a garment that deals with religious women's garments and how they can suffocate in a very extreme way. The second is an abstract exploration of praying hands. The pedestal is also my own work - it only took me 14 hours but a good a experience nonetheless. I plan on reworking and expanding on these pieces for my final five collection.
